Your osteoarthritis knee brace available on prescription or to buy direct from Thuasne

The Action Reliever is now available on prescription*

The Action Reliever is a knee brace for osteoarthritis (OA) that is invisible under most clothes. It is an off-loading brace that has been designed to apply corrective forces on the leg to reduce the load on the part of the knee affected by OA.

By helping hold the leg in a normal alignment and maintaining an equal load on the knee joint as a whole, the Action Reliever knee brace will help reduce compression and inflammation. This load reduction is proven to relieve pain.

The Action Reliever knee brace has been available on prescription since late 2019, so some GPs may not be aware of its availability. Speak to your GP today to inform them and discuss your need and suitability.

(* normal prescription charges may apply in some parts of the UK)

Keep moving

Knee osteoarthritis pain can cause you to reduce your physical activity (walking, sport, etc.) and even avoid certain everyday tasks (walking upstairs, housework, travelling on foot, etc.).

Lack of movement diminishes not only physical fitness, muscle strength and stamina, but also flexibility and weight control. All of which results in increased pain and stiffness!

Resuming physical activity and suitable exercises can break this vicious circle and increase your well-being considerably.

Osteoarthritis & bracing

Approximately five million people in the UK suffer with knee osteoarthritis, which is set to grow to 8.3 million by 2035.

A study showed that patients who wore a brace for two years or more did not require surgery at eight years follow-up.

It also showed that use of an off-loading knee brace can improve quality of life.
